China HDPE Geomembrane Supplier
HDPE Geomembrane (High Density Polyethylene Geomembrane) is a high-performance impermeable geosynthetic liner. It is produced from virgin HDPE resin blended with carbon black, antioxidants, UV stabilizers and other additives via extrusion or calendering processes.
There are two main types: smooth HDPE geomembrane and textured HDPE geomembrane (single-sided / double-sided textured). The textured version provides higher friction coefficient for slope stability, while the smooth type features easier welding and installation.
Summary of Core Characteristics and Advantages
HDPE geomembrane is a high-density polyethylene liner featuring outstanding impermeability, strong chemical and UV resistance, and superior mechanical performance with high tensile, tear and puncture resistance. Flexible and weldable on site, it adapts to complex terrain, resists microbial decay and root penetration, and is available in smooth or textured surfaces. As a cost-effective, non-toxic anti-seepage barrier, it is widely adopted in landfills, mining ponds, wastewater projects, aquaculture and reservoir anti-seepage works.

Application Scenarios
HDPE geomembrane
HDPE geomembrane is widely used in various anti-seepage projects due to excellent impermeability, chemical resistance and mechanical strength, while customized selection is required for different working conditions. For municipal landfills, 1.5–2.0 mm single or double-sided textured HDPE geomembrane is commonly adopted. Hazardous waste landfills demand stricter standards, requiring virgin material geomembrane above 2.0 mm. 1.0–1.5 mm smooth liner is used for artificial landscape lakes. 0.5–1.0 mm eco-friendly geomembrane is suitable for aquaculture ponds. 1.5–2.0 mm geomembrane is applied in tailings ponds with chemical resistance assessment. It can be used in biogas digesters to resist high-concentration organic acids. 1.0–1.5 mm liner is adopted for green roof and underground garage roof anti-seepage. 0.5–1.0 mm puncture-resistant geomembrane with good cost performance is the choice for agricultural reservoirs and irrigation canals.
Scenario | Recommended thickness | Surface type | Key indicators |
Landfill | 1.5-2.0mm | Rough surface | NCTL、Chemical resistance |
Artificial lake | 1.0-1.5mm | Smooth surface | Weldability, flexibility |
Aquaculture | 0.5-1.0mm | Smooth surface | Environmentally friendly, microbial resistance |
Tailings storage facility | 1.5-2.0mm | Rough surface / Smooth surface | Chemical resistance, strength |
Agricultural water storage | 0.5-1.0mm | Smooth surface | Puncture resistance and cost-effectiveness |
