A siphon is a tubular device that uses liquid gravity and atmospheric pressure to allow liquid to flow over higher obstacles. Its core principle is based on the Bernoulli equation and atmospheric pressure differences: the tube is first filled with liquid and the air is expelled to form a height difference between the two ends. The liquid flows from the high liquid level end to the low liquid level end under the action of gravity. At the same time, a local vacuum is formed at the highest point in the tube due to the flow of liquid. The atmospheric pressure pushes the liquid at the low liquid level end into the tube to maintain flow. In addition, key conditions must be met, such as the pressure at the highest point being lower than the atmospheric pressure, there being a height difference between the liquid levels at the two ends, and the height of the highest point being lower than the theoretical lifting limit of the liquid level at the high liquid level end (such as the limit of water related to liquid density and atmospheric pressure, which is about 10 meters).
